I was born in Belgrade, Serbia but I grew up in Portland, OR. My first undergraduate degree was in Physical Biochemistry at Harvey Mudd College - a bit late, I realized I wanted to pursue physics more seriously.
I completed my second undergraduate and my master's degrees in theoretical physics at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Physics. During my master's program under Dr. Saša Dmitrović, I classified topological atomic limits in the black and white line groups, relevant to quasi-one-dimensional systems, by deriving the elementary band co-representations.
In my PhD with Dr. Judit Romhányi, I have been largely studying weakly spin-orbit coupled systems. I have derived the irreducible co-representations for the spin point groups, as well as many Landau theories for altermagnets and non-collinear orders (coming soon). I greatly enjoy collaborating with experimentalists, and have worked with talented researchers X-ray measurements to better understand altermagnets and complex multi-Q magnetic systems. I am also a classically trained pianist, and I love photography, poetry and drawing. Although, to be fair, my favorite non-work activity is to spend time with my friends and family.
